I second the emotion that OAK had some of the best and friendliest UA ground people.

I almost always fly WN within California now because chances of delays at OAK are so much lower than at SFO... and for the *couple of million* people who live in the East Bay, OAK was and is vastly more convenient. It's just impossible for me to believe that a competent airline couldn't make Oakland work.
