Well I think that's exactly the crux of the issue. People are forced to redeem for toasters once they realize that redeeming a simple flight costs hundreds of dollars or that there's no availability months out. Seems like you want to whitewash the whole issue.

The people who may take advantage of these rewards could be people who have found it difficult to book the flights they want with Aeroplan. Or at least that's what my research has led me to believe!
