That said, Kate, you could definitely bring attention to how poor Aeroplan award space is, especially domestically within Canada.
Areoplan is a "Frequent" flyer program. If they don't fly and especially are using credit cards to get points with this pathetic redemption rate then they should either fly or use a different credit card. I suspect the average person won't even see 25K AP miles in a couple of years more like next to none on cheap fares and once a year travel.

The redemption for chochkes at this rate is a waste of points. Better a 1 or 2% rebate card.

Note (to reporter) AP sells you points for 3 cents a mile. Then gives you less than a quarter of that. Food for thought.
