Is it safe to drink and use tap water to brush teeth in Chile? And is it safe to drink beverages with ice? I heard that in some countries of South America such as Peru or Ecuador, generally tap water and ice are not potable for tourists unless boiled or additionally filtered since it may cause stomach upset. In those cases I also heard that it would be advisable that in the case if the tap water does not have filters, that tourists would need to brush their teeth with bottled water, for example.
