Yes and no, however OK Plus is a lot more restrictive than other FFPs in this regard. Other airlines will allow some flexibility but in my example I would not be allowed to go HEL-AMS-MSP-LAX-HNL for example, even if this was the only routing with available seats.
Furthermore, the OK Plus rules specifically state that when going Europe-Hawaii then travel via Pacific is allowed. The difference isn't that great either, ex HEL via CDG-ICN-HNL is 20% longer than CDG-LAX-HNL.
Paying the fake fuel surcharge is something that should be eliminated but I am prepared to do this. Seeing however that KE does not charge as big fuel surcharge, this would be the preferred carrier.
