On the main page there is a brief description of what is supposed to be posted in each forum.

If people ignore that, then there will be duplicate threads. No big deal, but that is obviously the consequence.

And quite a bit of what is posted in United is off-topic, IMHO. A lot of it would be better off in Buzz or General Travel Talk, since they are about general topics (like celebrity spotting, accidents at IAD, Singapore, Lufthansa --to cite some recent examples).

But the rules are voluntary. So we shouldn't wig out if someone starts a thread on the same topic because they didn't read every single forum.
