No shortage of points but no availability and even if i did then redemptions would be with different carriers so still wouldn't be a linked booking - VS to and from HKG - SYD, but mixture of possible carriers SYD - Queenstown and Nelson - SYD. Dates are 18th dec (arrive SYD 19th) and departure from SYD back to HKG 6th Jan. What's annoying is that if i were booking the whole trip through a consolidator like Expedia etc then they would book those flights adn connections for me happily - but as soon as i have booked part of the trip on miles then i don't get that comfort and as everyone has pointed out, if something goes wrong then i have no back up or support from either of the carriers, since Virgin are telling me they insist on a 2.5 hour connection time to be safe. Very frustrating!
