Don't underestimate the altitude. Just because you live at 5K doesn't mean squat. Lhasa is at 12K, that's not a joke. Many people go to the hospital or die coming from sea level.
Thanks. I have a few requests for quotes in and am waiting for responses. I'm using spg points for hotels. That 7700 RMB quote was w/o hotels.
I hike at 11-12K without problem. I generally feel winded around 12.5 and have been to 14K for shorter periods. Sea level to 12K seems rough. I'm hoping 24hrs has me feeling ok. Might take the preventative medicine but my wife has issues with sufides which I understand makes it impossible for her to take the altitude meds.
My understanding is I need to hire the guide for every day including arrival and departure in order to get the TTB. Is that incorrect?
