min international-international connection time at Sydney airport? Please help!
Hoping someone can help me - i am about to book reward seats on Virgin HKG - Sydney - HKG in Upper class and will need to get to and from New Zealand straight away and I am concerned my connecting flights don't leave enough time...
The VS flight lands at 07.20 and my onwards flight with Qantas to Queenstown departs 08.40...i cannot check my bags through from HKG to Queenstown so thought if i perhaps travel hand luggage will this give me enough time (as I'm assuming i wont need to change terminals nor clear immigration etc - just transit - is this correct? Also hoping that as travelling in Upper class we will get off the plane quicker etc etc).
On the return it's a similar story - flight from Nelson NZ (Air New Zealand flight this time) lands at 14.30 and VS flight departs 15.50, again can't check bags through so would need to travel hand baggage only?
Thoughts/advise please - i don't know Sydney airport at all and i will be travelling with 3 young children at a busy time of year so cant really afford to get stuck, but equally those are the most sensible connecting flights (and in the case of the return leg, the only connecting flight) and the last thing i want to be doing is sitting around airports for any longer than required.....
I really appreciate any help
Thanks
