Hard as it may be to fathom, anything is possible.

And wild speculation is fun.

He may well have been a Premier as they don't have to be regular travellers in premium cabins just control the travel budget for a major corporation. However as we don't have the full facts it is fairly difficult to come up with an accurate reason.
