I think it was your description of the upgradee that caused the problems in this thread. Had you not mentioned the description of him but rather just mentioned your disappointment with not being able to pay to upgrade but someone else who did not pay to do so got to sit in F, then I think a lot of people would have been very sympathetic, as many of us have been there and done that.

I do think that BA needs to put in place a mechanism to try to take the money instead of op-upping people when they need to move someone up. They are missing out on revenues here, as I am very frequently willing to part with the money, especially to escape the crowded cabin.
