You're in one of the best airports for spotting in the world. The Pier is dark, has that unmistakable subterranean feel, and is pretty much useless for spotting other than whatever aircraft is parked at the gate in front of the lounge. You'll have a view of the nose gear from ground level.
Agree with the comment on The Pier.
Though both our recent flights from HKG to US changed gates to 23 or 24 - so we wound up moving from the Wing to the Cabin about 45 min before departure time. Cabin is OK even though it is a business class lounge only. We also had one flight departed from gate 62 as well but that was a while ago.
