However.... Most US-bound flights leave from gates 1-4, which, of course, are right at (i.e., underneath) the Wing. A very long walk out to the Pier from there. The Pier is near gate 62. Check your gate first. If it's in the 1-4 group (gates 1-4 have their own wing of the terminal, just on the left from where you pass through immigration), don't bother with the Pier. You're in one of the best airports for spotting in the world. The Pier is dark, has that unmistakable subterranean feel, and is pretty much useless for spotting other than whatever aircraft is parked at the gate in front of the lounge. You'll have a view of the nose gear from ground level.

Breakfast at the hotel will undoubtedly be better than that which you can get at any airport lounge, notwithstanding that the catering at CX HKG F lounges is by the Pen. Have an early breakfast at the hotel. That way, you'll just be starting to get hungry again as you board. Perfect!!
