First of all, I would edit out your email address

I've flown my dogs on Delta and Continental. The rules are somewhat similar.

If you're flying with your dog, Delta will allow you to check them as baggage (if the kennel is up to large size). There are other restrictions in terms of weather, breed etc. The cost for checking as a baggage used to be $200 per dog. You check the dog at the check in counter (if there's no special PET check in counter), and off you go. They'll attach a sticker to the kennel, and give you a piece of it with matching numbers when it's checked in. After the kennel is loaded on the plane, they'll go to your seat and give you another part of that sticker, so you can be sure it's been loaded.

With continental (now united), they wouldn't allow to check dogs as baggage, only as cargo. The cost depends on the size of the kennel, but it's usually significantly higher than checked baggage. Continental/United has a program called PetSafe, which is specialized in transporting animals. Safe and efficient.

You can find very detailed information on delta's website http://www.delta.com/planning_reserv...tion/index.jsp and on united's http://pss.united.com/web/en-US/cont...s/default.aspx
