This was my experience too. I had never heard of such a thing.
I suspect that they could see that my spending pattern was geared completely around the spend bonus last year and , so, they had no reason to offer me anything.
BOTTOM LINE: If you are anywhere near your anniversary, Cancel the card before they post the annual fee!
