Finally an update - it took a while as everytime I tried phoning long waits - called the listed UK BusinessFirst phone number at 21.30 - listed as open till 22.00 message tells me to call back but pressed 1 and got a very helpful and friendly agent - I'm in BusinessFirst from SFO via ORD to MUC - change of plane but no change of seat map - can't upgrade as flight sold as SFO to MUC but if SFO to ORD could....
