Very sensible move, saves on hotel overnight and permits full day and evening in any of the cities, then hop the train to the next one. Just like using a Eurail pass to take overnight trains between cities to save on the hotel, travel in first class becomes very affordable. One of my business partners from Alberta used this after two days of meetings in Toronto, overnighted to Montreal for another day and a half of meetings, then flew back to Edmonton.
