A few weeks ago, I was flying the redeye LAX/JFK. I was #1 on the list. I stood at the podium and asked if F/J had boarded full. I was given the usual - CHECKED-IN full line. I asked if there were any no-shows. I was told yes - ONE. I said I'd wait patiently. I waited about 5 minutes, and a second GA asked why I was standing there. I told here - waiting for a possible F/J no-show pax. - She asked for my name. - I told her. - She said to me in a VERY condescending tone - "Oh no, you're not next on the list". I pointed to the screen and said - Yes I am! - She said - As pax board, your name disappears from the screen and we go by the true list in the computer and pull pax from Y.

(Using some FT savvy) - - I VERY NICELY stated that I had communications with DL customer service via eMail, and was told that once you board - you lose your UG position. She said that they don't do that at LAX - they pull from Y.

Just to add - I was #3, according to her.
