your best bet might be to tether with your phone.
at&t especially as their networks are under such a terrible load right now that any plan change whatsover leads them to try to rid you of your unlimited plan.
In my interest for MiFi plans (to bolt onto my iPhone 4S) over the last 6 months, I've asked different reps about moving my current unlimited plan to the iPad when the new one arrived. TWO of them told me I can do it...so yes, I will let them know how....displeased I am if I can't get it moved over.
