I continue to find people who say they have no problem earning both miles and points from Hertz. Here's a tip that just arrived today on the subject and in followup, the guy just got double last week with no problem. He doesn't understand the problems others are having.

"Ah! - here is where I can tell you all this info - This is an add-on to what you already published. With regards to Hertz and earning airline AND hotel points - Their reservation area on their web site also allows you to enter both sets of numbers. No reason to call is there? I have also had trouble with travel agents being able to even submit the airline number - I advise that one check with Hertz it is in there. If you want to check on the website you can - but be careful using the confirmation number the agent gives you - With AmExp the number ends with "CNTR" or similar - just leave that off when the site asks for the reservation number. Also - do not try to change an agent-made reservation on the site - does not work! Hope this helps!"
