I've flown YYZ-BKK, booked via AC.com, BKK-NRT leg was on TG. Got zero miles. NRT-BKK via ANA, 50% miles. (And these are confirmed with the new AC.com feature showing the booking classes and miles.)

I try to stay away from UA, I know what you mean.
