The tango plus pricing within Canada (and Asia for that matter) is totally out of hand. On top of that, the promo codes and sales of late are strictly for tango fares (which I obviously TRY to avoid). And every time there is such a sale or promo code, the difference YYZ-YVR (my most frequent route) has a difference of $164 o/w $328 r/t!

THIS for the privilege of playing aerolotto (if you want to) and 2000 some odd status miles? Seriously? With $164 you can pay for tango fare, seat selection, pre-order food and buy lounge access! I don't see the point of going for status at all if your travel is mostly within Canada.

If the tango plus fare were included in the sale or promo codes, I really wouldn't hesitate at a $60-$65 fare difference for that distance but I personally cannot justify $328 out of my own pocket for a r/t.

The current tango only promo code and subsequent gap between T and T+ actually drove me to book o/w with WS which had a more convenient schedule. I haven't flown WS in over decade! I'm not thrilled about it but my wallet is. And my apologies for my rant but I'm finally letting convenience and price dictate choices and not my ridiculous and pricey attempts to gain status and felt compelled to share. I doubt this is what AC had in mind as the outcome to sending out promo codes!
