Go to Bugis station. The hotel is in the same complex as the station itself, just walk thru the shopping center and the back entrance of the hotel is there. Around 2 or 3 min walk. Not sure if there is a train at 2 am.
The MRT stops running past midnight which means anyone arriving past 12am will have to take a taxi (with 50% midnight surcharge).

For a short layover I'd certainly choose the CP as it's much more convenient, unless you have something you need to do or see in town. Even then, I might choose to sleep at the CP and take the train or taxi to town in the morning since I'd want to get as much sleep as possible after getting off a long flight at 2am.
