My last Hertz rental at EDI ,I picked up the car in Gold PC area, at the gate he asked for licence or my gold card for id. I gave my gold card and away I went. Not sure if this will work in other places. After all the driving licence details are on the gold account
It doesn't prove anything though other than that you have put a driving licence number in the gold profile. It doesn't prove it is actually a licence nor whether it is correct details and is current and hasn't been suspended for traffic offences
Very surprised that they would accept that esp in UK
