I am short of 12 nights for the Diamond renewal.
There are the two possibilities:
- 12 nights in a local Hyatt Place, check-in for 80 $ all in per night = 960 $ for Diamond status + 60 k points (promotion until end of April), or
- 12 nights somewhere on holidays (cancel Hilton and book with Hyatt) for around 120 $ all in per night = 1440 $ for Diamond status + maybe some promotion or maybe nothing (cannot take holidays before end of April)
What would you do in my situation? I am not really keen of doing some additional holidays because I have actually no time for that.
More info is necessary to determine whether or not switching the vacation is a good option. In addition to the room rate, your opportunity cost would be a factor.
$960 for the Hyatt Place MR option clearly could be a good deal. If you value the status + the 60k points higher than the cost ($960 + opportunity cost), then it makes sense.
