How are you "downgraded" to boarding group 4? Your boarding group just has a number now. Silver has always come after GS/1st then 1K then PE so was always 4th or 5th depending on how it was grouped before. You are in the same position you were before. It is just a number.
Coming from the CO side, boarding was generally militry/first class then all elites/star gold. The point is to rebut the notion that the new UA "treats all elites the same."
