Not sure why you feel impelled to defend this aspect of the programme HIDDY. Have you completely depleted your own stash of miles and take glee at others having to pay over the odds for their own redemptions?

Would it not be more honest if BA either renamed the 'fuel surcharge' as 'non-standard price surcharge'* [* all discounts, promotions and redemptions will still need to pay the full cost of this surcharge] or just eliminated it?
