You might want to research the issue more at an immigration forum. It may depend on what your misdemeanour charge is.

Given basic data such as name, date and place of birth, I doubt if it will be easy to hide these little facts. I suppose if you have a common English/British name and a place of birth that is just stated in your U.K. passport as a town that sounds English (such as Manchester but not Manchester, NH), CBSA may assume that you coincidentally have the same basic details but if they do detect you are a U.S. citizen (such as the passport being issued in the U.S.), they may delve further.
