Having read the forums a bit, I noticed a few people have the mtvU card because it was such an easy card to get at a young age and its 5x TYP on certain categories + no annual fee made it a great card to keep open forever.

I just got a letter in the mail saying that starting 4/13/2012, the mtvU card will no longer be offered, and that current cardholders will get a replacement Citi Forward card by 5/11/2012.

Same credit card number and same 5x bonus categories at restaurants/bookstores/music/movies. However, no more free TYP for sending in transcripts (which I haven't done in a long time).

One thing that is a negative is that this can stop someone from getting a bonus for the Forward card ... the highest I can find right now is a 10,000 TYP bonus for $650 in spend, but I've seen past bonuses around 15K as well. Any way to get Citi to give a bonus for an unwanted change of card?
