In Trongsa I stayed at the Yangkil Resort. Very nice view of the Dzong and the surrounding valley. The room I had was very large with a huge bathroom as well. I can recommend it.

In Bumthang I was at the River Lodge in Jakar. It was quite basic and I didn't love the food there. I would guess there are better choices.

In Punakha I stayed at the Meri Puensum which was quite nice. The gardens and grounds there are really beautiful...lots of flowers. Room was large. Bathroom could use a re-do but things change slowly in Bhutan. Food was just average. Has satellite TV with a couple of channels.

In Thimphu I stayed at the Kisa Hotel. Nice location right across the street from the stadium. More modern with a lift. Food was pretty good here. Has wifi and satellite TV.

In Paro I stayed at Janka Resort which was very nice but a ways out of town. Big room and bathroom. Views over the surround rice fields, horses, etc. Nice restaurant.

If you can make it farther east it is totally worth it. I loved my time in the east much better than the west. But it is a lot of driving over very difficult roads to get there and back. Now that the new airports are open though getting to and from the east is a bit easier.
Thanks, appreciate the reply. I know about TA of course but prefer to rely on FT. There's too many fake comments on TA these days.
