DL never used the 757s on JFK-TXL; they were always 763ERs from day one. CO was the one that used 752s (and 762s in the winter).

I believe DL wants to maintain its 'direct aisle access from every seat in BE' sales pitch, and there are simply no good solutions in the market today for a 757 BE seat that would meet that requirement (without giving up too many seats). Hence they have been gradually replacing the 757s TATL with 767s, and trying to limit the 75s to seasonal leisure TATLs....

This summer, the 757s will only be doing JFK-DKR, JFK-KEF, JFK-AGP, JFK-VLC, JFK-SNN, CDG-PHL/PIT. All except DKR are seasonal anyway. These will be covered by the 75Es (ex-TW 757s with nose-to-tail AVOD PTVs) this summer...no more 75As...

Other TATL 757 routes from last summer - JFK-FRA, JFK-BRU, JFK-DUB, JFK-CPH, and JFK-ARN have all been upgauged to 763ERs this summer (with FRA and BRU having flatbed BE seats).
