Sure, NW's NRT hub was unrivaled back before everything was about codesharing and alliances but now DL has to either fly its own metal intra-Asia or get pax to ICN in order to take them beyond Tokyo since they lack a major Japanese partner.
DL does have a major Korean partner, KE which has a major hub at ICN. IMO, ICN is a far better hub for Skyteam than NRT.
