Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't really consider DL's disjointed Asia presence that enviable. Sure, NW's NRT hub was unrivaled back before everything was about codesharing and alliances but now DL has to either fly its own metal intra-Asia or get pax to ICN in order to take them beyond Tokyo since they lack a major Japanese partner.

*A seems to be the one with the better setup, with at least one airline from each of the following: Japan, China, Korea, Singapore and Thailand. They don't even really need a hub, just enough flights from each of those airlines and UA to the various UA hubs here and they're set. It's more similar to OW's approach but with better coverage.
