As a Plat, I don't think I've ever *not* been given breakfast at either one. Most recent stays are mid-2011. No weekend lounge when I was there.
Both hotels are generally pretty good. Clearly a party of 4 would benefit from the Suites. Traveling solo, I liked them both. Renaissance seemed to have a little more style to it - the new restaurant/bar is pretty cool. Suites was a little friendlier and definitely quieter overall.
The other thread has some pretty detailed reviews IIRC.
