I have a domestic award ticket for travel this coming week. I'll be bringing a lap infant with me. As I understand it, a lap infant on a reservation prohibits the use of online checkin. Plus, not having preferred status anymore, I hate waiting on hold for an hour every time I call into the 800 number. Can I just check in online as usual, then show up at the airport on day of travel and have the lap infant added to my reservation at that point? Or, is there some reason why I should call and let them know I've got the lap infant in advance??
