I've often been recognized by FA's who come back to coach to say hi and thanks- sometimes they bring me a BE amenity kit. I've been given sundaes off the cart in BE for desert (seated in exit row 18E just behind the BE curtain). Also, when the FA saw me drinking my complementary coach wine from the little bottle since I had no room- she came over and whispered Mr. xxxx, we have a lovely chablis up front, would you like a glass?
Happens all the time. Granted, I fly a few select routes and am probably recognized by the same crews.
Just a curious question...what international routes are you typically flying? I ask because you say that you're on select routes frequently enough that the same crewes recognize you, nothing strange about that. On the routes I routinely fly, I see the same crews quite often as well. However, you say that you are generally only SM or GM whereas many folks who fly international routes frequently enough to be recognized by the crews have much higher status since many of those trips are of much greater distances. None the less, sounds like you're getting great service and much better medallion recognition than most FOs will ever get.
