WHBM Cheers and thanks so much for suggesting the book! I'll see if I can get one. I'm always fascinated with Imperial Airways and those Empire flying boats.

Yes, Jlemon, absolutely! We have monthly FT happy hours here in Washington DC. We could have a "mini-old timers-do" here. Or, as someone said, "The world is at your doorstep." So maybe you can suggest somewhere we have talked about in this thread, where we could meet and perhaps tour the bones of an airport of the past, retrofitted to current use today. With a microbrew of course...
