I would love to take advantage of the free stopover, but I'm not sure how... we actually live in Hartford (BDL), but need to be flying out of ATL to bring our kid for the grandparents to babysit. An ideal routing would be BDL>??>ATL (stop, at least for a few hours)>??>NRT/HND. We could, of course, fly from anywhere close to BDL, too - both BOS and JFK/LGA would be less ideal but completely doable. As it is, I'm assuming I'm going to be buying a RT ticket separately for the BDL-ATL portion. I'm also looking at probably a nine-day trip... we were thinking 3 days Tokyo, 3 days Kyoto, 3 days Seoul... or something kind of like that. Adding 1 day for HKG was worth it if the routing worked, but we can't really spare any more time, and we only will have about 105-110K AA miles/each.
