I use Thai because 1) their prices are best and 2) I like the atmosphere on board . I would not swap my ticket against anything else including Singapore Airlines because I always enjoy a lot of laughter during a flight with the crew plus the occasional visit in the cockpit. Malfunctioning IFE or badly prepared lobsters do not worry me , I insist on high quality liquid material instead .

The current chaos and uncertainties about which aircraft you may have tu use do indeed worry me deeply which brings us to your original question :

My alltime favorite is the 747 , window seat port side . I do prefer the old version with 14 F seats as long as they give me that window seat and block the neighbour seat .

Second choice is the later 747 with 10 seats , again window seat port side 3A or 1A .

If I do not get any of the aforementioned seats I shall not use this plane .

I prefer the open design of the current Thai F 747 which leads us to the newly established 777-300 FRA - BKK . I used 3A twice in the meantime and I do not like it because it is sort of a coffin . Good for sleeping and separation from nose picking individuals but bad for anything else . The idea of spending 11 hours in one of the middle seats makes me feel sick . As the 777 has taken over TG 923 which is my beloved night flight we may talk about a real drama here .

Third version would be the A340 which I shall definitely avoid whenever possible , this cabin is too small . I don't like it .

If they do not use the future A380 for the night flights I may start thinking about alternatives but there aren't any . I want non stop , acceptable price and great booze .

Disclaimer : all a matter of taste of course .
Very useful!

So, essentially, for a seasoned Thai F flyer such as yourself, you would choose 747's...and maybe the 773's. You almost never want the Airbus.

This thread is very helpful. I had similar questions.
