Arrived into LCY last night and a very proactive purser used the very short taxi to the gate to walk up and down the cabin to check for people who had switched on their mobiles. Had the same purser a few weeks ago, on the slightly longer taxi from the new runway in FRA he managed to do three tours of the cabin.

I found the whole exercise rather amusing (both, the pretty obvious power trip of the purser, as well as the shock to the banker's self importance). Even more so the Chinese chap sitting across the aisle from me who had switched on his Blackberry during approach and who utterly avoided detection by the purser by placing the BB under his newspaper.
