I just got charged 6,000 rupees for a 5 kg excess baggage on Jet Airways (Mumbai to Bangkok). We had flown in to India on Jet Airways using 0kg check-in, but were over by 5kg on our combined 40 kg allowance when flying out of India.
When we had the gall to complain that we had used 45 out of 80kg (return trip) - after all, airlines fly weight - it's a simple as that .... the check-in counter staff member (1) deliberately ignored seating preference, seating my partner and I in different rows and in non-preferred seats, and (2) printed all boarding passes within India and for BKK upside down (which going through Indian Central Industrial Security Force security check-points was cause for much consternation and inquiry - if you've travelled in India you'll know what I'm talking about) ....
Together with failed delivery of pre-ordered meals, non-working entertainment units (one of which had a panel fascia that kept just 'falling off' the seat in front of me into my drink/s), absolutely shocking food (worst ever experienced), the 'take it or leave it' attitude of check-in staff - I won't be rushing to fly Jet Airways again. Certainly not with that 20kg allowance for India (of all places)!
