Obviously if you are lugging bags allow extra time, but it was still fairly quick all the same.

For me today, platform to platform walking briskly, no bags, knowing where I was going:

Petchaburi MRT (subway) to SARL-City Line Makkasan: 9 minutes and 34 seconds (includes 30 seconds to buy a token).

SARL - City Line to Petchaburi MRT (I have an MRT pass): 8 minutes and 29 seconds, I barely made the crossing before a SRT train came through.

There are no signs at the subway, so use exit #3. My favorite sign inside the CAT at Makkasan is an A4 laser printed sign saying "Station Exit" with a hand-drawn arrow! There is an Air Asia logoed, extended length electric tuk-tuk ferrying people the 150 m from the CAT out towards Ratchada Pisek Road towards the subway station.

I think the connector may come over Kampheng Phet 7 road, west of Ratchada Pisek and come in behind the #3 subway entrance? It will probably consist of several flights of very treacherous steps!
