Believe it or not, I was in Kathmandu 10 days ago as part of my around the world flight. Getting in and out of Kathmandu on SkyTeam is a pain. One of the posters above me mentioned the Chinese carriers. I tried that, and DL told me there was no award availability forever as far as they could see. I do have one other idea. Flights from DEL to KTM and vice versa are ridiculously cheap and there are many. To get out of KTM, I flew Jet Airways, a SkyTeam member, back to Delhi before continuing on to HKG. (Be sure to ask the DL agent to long sell the Jet Airways ticket. When I asked, Jet responded very quickly while I was still on the phone.) And of course from DEL you can get anywhere.
