Toronto - NYC / what's a good competitive fare

Hi,

It seems that this route is quite competitive with 2 lowcosts operating on it:
Westjet and Porter.

I've seen that Air Canada and Porter are currently offering a 50% discount. The flight is currently pricing at around 169USD.

AA is not offering promotions at this time although their earliest flight is currently only just a bit more expensive. (around 180USD)

I hope somebody here can advice me on this price. Is 169USD a reasonable price and should I wait some longer for AA or will they never lower the price of the other flights.

BTW: I taught that kayak offered a tool to check historical prices but I could not find this anymore... ?

Reason for posting in AA forum: my preference is to fly AA and I would go for AA if they offer a competitive rate for the flights later on the day.
