Bereave Fares

Air Canada provides specially reduced Bereave Fares for those who fly to attend funeral services of an immediate family member. We try to help ease this difficult time by offering discounts of up to 75% on Air Canada and Air Canada.

Regional Partner full fare economy tickets.

Now it's easier to reserve

We understand that gathering up official documentation of death is not easy to do, especially when flying on short notice. So now family members can book Bereave Fares for travel within North America simply by calling Air Canada's reservation office and providing the name, telephone number and address of the funeral services location, along with the funeral date.

To receive Bereave Fares on select international flights, family members are still required to present a copy of the Death Certificate before they fly. If this is not possible, they can apply for a Bereave Travel Refund after travel is complete.

Other conditions apply

Prices are available by calling Air Canada's reservation service and asking for our Bereave Fares. Please give the Air Canada Agent the reference number CIC*160/33.

Refunds after travel is completed
When applying for a refund, please submit a completed Bereave Travel form (available from Air Canada ticket offices), a copy of the Death Certificate or Funeral Director's Statement, original boarding passes and original passenger tickets. Refund applications must be made within 90 days of bereavement; you can make your application in person at any Air Canada or Air Canada Regional Partner ticket office, or by mail to:

Air Canada, Refund Services, P.O. Box 6475,
Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 3V2.
