I have an old Chase Ink Cash card, not available anymore, but I am grandfathered in at 3% on gas, dining and hardware/home improvement. However, that card that earns "Rewards" points that are not Ultimate Rewards. You can use Rewards to redeem for cash at 1 cent per point or buy gift cards.
But then I got a Chase Ink Bold. And I called Chase customer service to ask if I could transfer my points from the Ink Cash card to the Ink Bold card. No problem said the CSR and tranferred over my 17,000 points, which then became Ultimate Reward points when they got to my Ink Bold account.
