Actually I'd argue nowadays Belarus is relatively easy for many people, though still more difficult than countries which do not require a visa of course. You only have to register if you spend more than 5 working days in the country now and in some ways the whole visa process is easier than Russia (and certainly cheaper). Of course it also depends on your nationality and the effectiveness of your local Belarusian embassy (if you have one!) so YMMV. But there are far, far harder countries to get into!
