since upgrades are ALWAYS subject to availability and you're asking someone to compare their gold to plat upgrade that person would have to have stayed at the property twice - once as a gold and another time as a plat as different individuals staying at different levels won't give you an accurate picture for a gold could very well get a suite when the hotel is empty while a plat might only get a corner room when the hotel is full........

btw, I just stayed last month as a plat and was given an upgrade to a harbor view but low floor........ but have nothing to compare it to as previous stays in SYD were at the Hilton and/or Park Hyatt (which unfortunately wasn't open)
