This does not sound right. BA now charges separately for each flight flown. GIG to the U.S. should be 25K Avios just for the first flight; each additional flight on AA should be at least 4.5K Avios more. So with three flights, the cost should be at least 34K Avios, and possibly more, depending on the exact routing.
