Quite correct.
My grandmother is 99 now, and I know that she has not been on a train for a couple of decades (despite living in London where they are available in multiple forms, and would not consider it, either), but until recently went on coach trips (of which there is a vast market aimed entirely at OAPs) and local buses.
The coach is much better option, a busy train station is anonymous and very confusing, but the coach driver will be used to dealing with the elderly and she can be met at the coach door at the other end. I'm pretty sure that there is some kind of tracking too.
